Listed as one of Conde Nast Traveller‘s Top 10 Wild Swims in Italy.
Near the village of Borgo Pace, not far across the border between Tuscany and Marche. The River Auro flows through a green valley from one waterfall to the next, providing a series of natural pools.
The book Wild Swimming in Italy describes the Gorga dei Morti pool as ‘beautiful but dangerous’. The quiet Poderina pool also has a sulphur spring. Other pools include Madonnina and Obbra. Ideal for children and families.
The book’s advice is to try them all.
